Witbank Jewish Cemetery
The Witbank Jewish cemetery was established around 1908, the first grave being that of Jacob Barman (Yaacov ben Avraham), who died on 13 April of that year. There are 192 graves in the cemetery, 146 with tombstones plus 42 unmarked graves. Four of the tombstones have two inscriptions, which represent two separate burials. In 1998 a restoration project was initiated by Mr Louis Shill to repair the graves and surround the property with a fence with a lockable gate.

On the 9th of June 2002 Barry Mann and Lionel Lewis photographed and documented all the tombstones in the Witbank Jewish cemetery. All the tombstones are located within 7 rows, which were numbered 1 through 7. The tombstones are all facing in the same direction, approximately east.
